Keeping calm (at home) is not my forte, but there are a couple of things that greatly help: lifting heavy weights, and spending time with my dogs outdoors.

  71. I’m generally a calm person, but if something is particularly stressing, one of my cousins long ago told me to count with roman numerals. (I, II, III, IV, etc). If you do it aloud, you’re guaranteed to get a laugh, which calms anyone down. If I’m in need of a long calm time, I long for my cabin in Canada. It’s peaceful by the water in the woods where there’s no phone, internet, or electricity (except by solar power).

I’ll open up the bedroom window to get a nice breeze, pull the blanket up to my chin, and dive into a book. Hours may go by before I feel the need to move from that spot. This way, I can also tune out the little song from my washing machine when it finishes a cycle. :)
