Yesterday, while boating, we had a great view. Found a waterfall and a bear cub right there. Beautiful day, amazing views. Picked up a few of these pretty purple coneflowers today. Seeing as most of my photos are flowers and plants, it's safe to assume I'm excited to add greenery to our property. @loweshomeimprovement Thanks for the great selection! Eek!!!! Look what's in the fall issue of Do it Yourself magazine. So exciting!!

February Giveaway Winners

I hope you’re all having a fabulous Friday!  Yay, it’s Friday.  Erin and Jen N., I think you’ll be happy to know you’re the winners of one Lily & Val chalkboard print and two Our Humble Abode prints.  Congrats, new art is so fun.

Now I need your opinions.  I’m trying to decide which drawer handles I like better.  The first is a super simple brushed stainless handle for $2.97.

I like the straight lines and the simple profile.

The second one is slightly larger brushed nickel for $3.97.

I like the size, but I’m not a fan of the slightly rounded shape.

Ben wants to use the same style we used in our old kitchen.

The problem is, Lowe’s has increased the price by $20 for ten pulls.  But, we can order some off Ebay for $1.50 to $2 each.  So the question is, do we use something we can get right now for twice the price?  Or place an order and patiently wait to get the cheaper handles?  Which also means we can’t install the finished drawer fronts because we’ll have no way of opening them until we have handles.

If you’ll excuse me, I’m headed down to finish refinishing the mini dresser.  Hopefully I’ll have it done to share on Monday.

  1. I like the first ones! Clean lines are great and the price is even better. Really, I would go with those if it were me. Good luck!!

  2. I’m pretty sure I have the second option hanging on my kitchen cabs. They came in a big pack and weren’t very pricy. I love them. Option one is nice too!

I also love the first ones. Simple, clean and they go great with your design.

  4. I like the clean lines of the first choice. Nice and sleek. I looked at some similar to those for a project I finished up a while back.

  6. I love the first option! And somehow it feels more like your new house. Is that weird??

If you decide you really want the same ones you had before, then order them and wait for them. You’ve waited this long, what’s a few days more? Especially when it comes to getting your home “just right.” We do that all the time — I’d rather wait a little longer than make do.

    • Hi AnneSATX!

Ben really likes those (and the price), but I prefer the look of the first ones, which were his least favorite of the three options. We’ll just see what he thinks. :)

      Thanks!

Two is right out. One is okay but I think Ben has it right. :) “Good things come to those who wait”!

    • Hey Shelley!

I agree about number 2. I like the cylinder pulls too, but kinda want to change things up from our last house. :)

      Thanks!

  11. I love number one :) We are most likely going with that style for our kitchen hardware! :)

I would go with #1. I don’t like when the handles have over-hang. They always catch onto my clothes, purse, cords etc.. It drives me crazy!
