Gimme a Giveaway: Ello There Winner

Wow, another Friday!  Time flies when you’re working and having fun, right?  We asked you to share your favorite romantic song, or your first dance song.  We shared our first dance song, Carried Away by George Strait.  Some of our other favorites played at our wedding are When You Say Nothing At All (I prefer the Keith Whitley version over Allison Kraus), Save the Best for Last by Vanessa Williams, Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis, and Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.

Though not love songs, every wedding needs a little fun and humor, so Another One Bites the Dust by Queen and Paradise by the Dashboard Lights by Meatloaf are wedding essentials, in my book.  At Ben’s brother’s wedding in December, I requested Paradise by the Dashboard Lights.  People we dancing up a storm, including Ben, and then Paradise came on and everyone except Ben cleared the floor.  I was headed out of the room, but I heard the song and looked to the dance floor to see Ben, all alone, dancing.  A good wife can’t leave her man hanging, right?  So, I started dancing with him and we gave the entire wedding reception a 9 minute show.  True story.

Oh, and if you’re ever in Minneapolis, go to The Shout House and request Paradise (or any other song).  My sisters, cousin and I had to sing every word if they were going to play it, so we did.  It’s a blast.

That’s enough embarrassment for one day, let’s get down to business.  The winner of one customized Ello There wedding poster is…

number 27, Alicia.   She and her hubby danced to Josh Kelley’s “Home to Me”.

P.S.  Everyone thought Ben had to be drunk to dance like such a fool, but he had one sip of champagne, the rest is all Ben.

P.P.S.  I don’t know if you can view the video because it is through Facebook, but I shared it on our wall.  If you can, I’m sorry.  If you can’t, you’re lucky.  Ha.  I would also like to state that I was a bridesmaid and had a pretty dress, but I switched to the only other clothes I had with, hence the jeans and button down shirt.

P.P.P.S.  We are well aware that we are terrible/dorky/uncoördinated dancers.  I firmly believe the wedding party can dance like fools, but still look cool.

Gimme a Giveaway: CAPow! Winner

Wow, it’s Friday again and we’ve loved getting to know you and your favorite cities.  Of course, St. Paul and Minneapolis are close to my heart, but my favorite city is San Francisco.  It is so pretty, filled with history and exciting things to do.  I still have a ton of traveling to do before I can definitively claim the city by the bay as my fav, but it is so far.  Though, Anchorage was pretty, too, in a completely different way.  Ben really loved San Fran.  Now, we just have to go together!

The winner of a $60 CAPow! store credit is number 59, Meredith who said, “I don’t have a favorite city yet – I feel as though I have so much more traveling to do before I pick one! For now, it gives us the best feeling just to visit our hometown of La Plata, MD. New is exciting, but familiar has such a comfort to it.”

And, the winner of a $30 CAPow! store credit is number 76, Amber.  Amber said, “I’m a subscriber! I have so many ideas for maps with the cute candy hearts!  I’d go custom and maybe get a set of three–where he proposed, where we were married, and where we live! Love them!!”

Get ready for a party next week as we celebrate our five-year anniversary.  We’re going to share our wedding and all the details to go with.  Have a great weekend!

Etsy Favs: May

Well folks, it’s that time of the month again.  The time to share all of the wonderful items we’ve recently added to our Etsy favs.  Last month we shared a double dose because we missed a March post.

We love the simplicity and sentiment of a map, so why wouldn’t we love this State Love painting from Paint Me a Picture?

This Butterfly Wings watercolor print by the talented Amber Alexander is just so pretty.

How about a Wooden Wall Sculpture from Says the Tree?

The smaller version is really cute, too.

How cute would this Ferris Wheel print by Sylvia C. Photography look in a kid’s room?  I think very.

Maybe this White Magnetic Knife Block by Feel Felt Found would inspire you (or me) to cook a little more often?

Give your new knife block a pal in the dining room.  This Feather Table Runner from Elkhorn Design is stunning.

Looking to add original art to your home?  A Sprig Flowers original watercolor by Piink Design Studio is only 20 bucks.

Skinny Laminx has tons of original, cute fabrics, including this pillow cover.

A little Clam Bowl from Element Clay Studio would add instant charm and character to any table setting or kitchen.

I have lusted over these adorable Heart measuring spoons by Beehive Kitchenware for the longest time.

This Spooning poster from Petek Design cracks me up every time.

For some reason, even though this is showing rain, the mini Spring Shower hoop at Pilli Pilli Handmade is too cute.

Cute monograms on plates?  Yes, please!  A is for Asparagus from Just Noey.  Definitely too cute to eat off of, but perfect on display.

I want a cute fortune cookie, like this from Yoga Goat hanging on my tree next year.

I’ve been wanting to add more original art to our house, and this Birthday Cake Yellow Flower watercolor by Print Maker Jenn is beautiful and fun, all at once.

If I had an actual shop to open and close, I would adorn my door with this Open/Closed Sign by Mary Kate McDevitt.

Both of our boys have such beautiful eyes, I would love to have two Custom Eye Paintings by artist Ashley Spirals to hang in our home.

Diet Coke lovers, you need this print from Livy Love Designs.  Ash, that means you.

Modern Art Everyday has so many beautiful print options, like this White Dahlia print set.

A custom initial illustration from Darling Lark would be adorable for any little boy or girl.

City dwellers, this Row Houses print by Jen Skelley is perfect for you.

Give the kiddos something, too.  An animal block puzzle from Little Sapling Toys is cute enough to leave out.

You know we have a thing for feathers, and this Peacock Feather from Dovie Moon is no exception.

That concludes this month’s Etsy Favs.  Now, do some shopping!

Gimme a Giveaway: CAPow!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries, Thank You!***

We’ve shared CAPow! work before, in our Map Lovin’ round up.  Crystal is the mastermind behind CAPow and all the fantastic art prints.  If you have a weakness for maps, like we do, you’ll love CAPow!

First, we fell for the Hometown Hearts print series featuring Valentine’s Day candy hearts atop a city map.  Of course, I love  Home Safe Twin Cities.

But, CAPow has more than Hometown Hearts to offer all you map lovers.  The Typography series reminds me of the Ork city posters.

I Love Minnesota

I Love California

Or, add a print of your favorite City Skyline

And if that wasn’t enough, check out all the gorgeous photographs.

The Goods: One $60 shop credit and another $30 shop credit good for or toward anything in the CAPow! shop.

Just for Fun:  What is your favorite city in the world?  Do you or have you lived there?  Been on a fantastic vacation?  or just dying to go?
