My sister-in-law and I decided to make a weekly trip to a few near by thrift stores. Our first thrifting date was on Thursday, so I wanted to share my deals with you.
I picked up two small file boxes for $.99 each. I saw an idea for a perpetual calendar from Ashley Ann on Design Sponge and want to make one and one of these boxes would be perfect. I also found a light aqua vase for $1.99. I don’t know exactly what I’ll do with it yet, but it might find its way to my office for more sneaky storage. A small candle holder was $1.59. I had one just like it, but V broke the glass. Finally, I found a down insert pillow (with a lovely cover!) for $2.99. No worries, I do not plan to keep the cover, though I told Ben that was the new color scheme I wanted for the living room.
Have you found any steals at the thrift stores recently? Has anyone attempted to transform ugly thrift store brass into silver using Blue magic?

OOO! i found a whopping deal! 2 BUMBO seats (for babies) for $6. I know not anything to re-do. (although my mil thinks I surely could find a way to spray paint them! lol. I love thrifty stores;)
That is a good deal! Those suckers cost over $30 each! Nice find. I’m not sure that you can spray paint them with much success becuase they’re foam (and the paint may be bad for the baby…)

I am SO glad you mentioned the blue magic polish again! I saw your original post about this miracle cream and flagged it immediately as a MUST TRY! Well, my over organization has failed me…I found the perfect brass test lamps at an estate sale almost 3 weeks ago and went to my must try file…and could not find the tip. So thank you thank you thank you! Going to the auto store today!
