Gimme a Giveaway: Jessica Alpern

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries, Thank You!***

You remember Jessica Alpern Cuts Paper, don’t you?  Yes.  Good!  No, well let me refresh your memory, because you’re going to love her and her fantastic work.  We have one of Jessica’s fantastic, intricate cut outs in our bird, tree and feather art gallery.

The black nest to the top left is a hand cut silhouette, filled with charm and character.

My favorite detail is the little feather.  So cute.  And, I love that Jessica mounts the cut outs to vellum or plexi glass, so you can change up the background color if your room (or mood) changes.  We also picked up a Spork, Welcome to the family cut out for our kitchen, but those weren’t the only cut outs we loved.  In fact, it was hard to choose.  Jessica has everything, from real, nature inspired cut outs like these:

Leaf Skeleton

Dinomite

Peacock Feathers

But, if you’re looking for something with a little more personality, Jessica’s got you covered with light-hearted, humorous cut outs like these:

Long Stride Evolution

I Made You a Mix Tape

Heck, she can make a custom silhouette of you furry friend.

  1. I favorite’d Jessica’s shop. I LOVE the nesting silhouette and the Spork one would be awesome in my kitchen!

  2. Already a subscriber. “Whoa” (Joey from Blossom) the the first thing that comes to mind as a classic TV catch phrase, even though I never really watched Blossom.

  3. Favorited on Etsy. I love “hey honey”. We’re coming up on our first anniversary (traditional gift–paper), so this would be perfect!

  4. I am a subscriber through email!
My fave TV phrase is from Saved by the Bell: AC Slater calling Jesse Spano “Mama” all the time…lol

  5. Love, love, love this giveaway! I am constantly making 30 Rock references, it’s probably getting pretty annoying for those around me! 🙂

  6. Her shop is now a favorite of mine on Etsy… though it already should have been! Favorite items include the rain/umbrella, peacock, lemongrass/salmon/cracked pepper and skeleton keys!

  7. I am a happy follower! 🙂

I used to love that show too!!! I can’t think of any tv shows taht I used to quote but my friends and I used to quote Monty Python…. was so fun at the time! lol

  8. Hi Amanda, I really love your style of decorating your house. I got some really nice ideas for our home (we moved in a new home 4 weeks ago). In my freetime I love to handcraft especially with paper. And the works of Jessica Alpern are great and I now how much time she must had spent on her works.
    Best regards from Germany,
    Annett

  9. Email subscriber..can’t decide if I like the keys, the bicycles or the Easter egg best..beautiful creations and a really nice giveaway.

Joey from “Friends” – How youuu dooing? usually comes to mind.

  10. First: I’m a subscriber and adore your blog.
Second, and if anyone else remembers this, that would be great and make me feel not as crazy: There was a commercial sometime in the past, where a family was trying to take a group photograph but the camera wouldn’t work. So Grandma yells “shake the camera!!” I say that phrase all the time, which in my mind means fiddlewithituntilitworks. Shake the camera!

  11. My favorite phrase is from the movie Finding Nemo. It’s, “Just Keep Swimming!” Words to live by I tell ya.

  12. I added Jessica Alpern to my Etsy Favs (ihgirl22)! I just love the Meat Lovers silhouette cut out!

  13. I also went on Jessica Alpern’s Etsy site and added her to my favorites. I love several of her pieces! – the nesting eggs, Dino-mite head (which my husband thinks is really cool), and the dog silouettes. Maybe I’ll get a silhouette of our little Puppy Gracie 🙂 I’m really excited about this giveaway!

  14. I subscribe via Google Reader if that counts. 🙂

I think my favourite catch phrase is also from Full House. I saw “How ruuude!” a la Stephanie Tanner all the time.

  15. Aww, rats. I was all excited to enter because I love the pet portraits, but then I noticed they’re in vinyl. Going to have to stick to my eco-principles and not enter 😦

Oh well, maybe I can attempt to DIY something similar using paper/card instead, one day.

  16. I signed up! Wow –catchphrase, eh? So many of them stop being funny after the millionth time, but as a Southerner, I’ll go with Flo (from Alice) and “Kiss my grits!”

  17. I’ve followed you through Google Reader for serveral months now. I’d say my favorites are the Skeleton Leaf, Peacock Feathers, and One Wish — I’d love to get all three!

  18. Hey guys! I’m so excited everyone is entering the giveaway! I just wanted to take a moment to elaborate. Only the white silhouettes are on vinyl. All of the other work is created with archival black silhouette paper. Not only is it eco-friendly, but it will last for generations. Thanks so much everyone and especially Amanda!

  19. My husband and I quote tv shows and movies all the time. I can’t think of a favorite. But my husband just finished the dishes and said, “Dishes are done, dude.” (Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead) Just an example of how often and random we quote things. Haha.

  20. Thanks to Amanda and 9stars/Jessica for letting me know that paper silhouettes are an option 🙂 So I’m revoking my previous comment – I would love to enter after all!

I follow the blog, and I also added the pet silhouette to my Etsy favourites (username “bon007”), but I’m not on FaceBook so no extra entry there.

I’m sure it’s not my most used quote, but the only one I can think of just now was Daria (from the TV show Daria) saying something like, “Fun is fun. I’ll try to remember that.”

  21. these are really cool! thanks for a fun giveaway

we always liked Steve Irkle “anybody got any cheeeese?”

  22. Ummm- this is a tough one….I think that I would have to say that my husband I I always get a kick out of the one-liners that Lenny Briscow has in every rerun episode of Law and Order (we’re big fans:)

and her work is AMAZING by the way- so unique- what a great giveaway!!!

  23. I’m a follower and my family and I quote sayings from my all time favorite movie – Major Payne. 🙂

  24. Added Jessica to my favorites and have already picked out what I want if I win – the set of three keys! 🙂

  25. I am a follower…

All I can think of right now is Urkel’s (sp?) snort/laugh on Family Matters 🙂

  26. Awesome giveaway! I subscribe! Hubby and I are always using ‘dynamite’ (pronounces Diiiin-O-mite!) from What’s Happening? (yes, we are a bit older than you, ha!)

  27. I follow already. I still love when Carleton danced to “It’s Not Unusual” – people still reference it!
