January Sponsor Appreciation

I’m totally flattered that my blog bud Jen at IHeart Organizing has continued to sponsor us.

You’ve seen Jen on our blog before, here and here.  We also did a little shopping at IKEA, Home Goods and Goodwill.  If you haven’t realized, Jen is an organization guru.  Seriously, she has so many “Why didn’t I think of that” ideas, like her basket storage solutions

You know I love an organized office, and Jen’s doesn’t disappoint, even after her basement flooded, she turned her bedroom closet into an office nook.

If you’re looking to get your self a little more organized, pop in Jen’s Etsy shop to get checklists, labels, and monograms.  Thanks again, Jen, for continuing to support our little ‘ol blog!

Free Printable: Bookplates

I think a free printable is the perfect way to wrap up our bookshelf week.  What do you think?

I totally agree!  So, here are some bookplates I whipped up in four color options, just for a little variety.

Aqua

Sun

Peacock

Finally, in honor of Valentine’s Day, Hot Pink.

Click the link to download the .pdf file, print, and stick to your favorite books or give as a gift!   Helpful hint:  Print on full sheet labels and cut on the black lines.  The final measurements of each bookplate is 2 inches wide by 4 inches tall.  If you have an editing program, you can open the PDF to add a typed name, or print and handwrite your name in.

Please note:  The bookplate design is for personal use only.  Thanks!

Inspiring Interiors: Mall of America

While in Minnesota, Ben, Vincent and I were in a wedding.  Fortunately for us, the rehearsal was a few miles from the Mall of America (and IKEA), so we had lunch at Twin City Grill.  Tangent: Twin City Grill has the best salt and vinegar fries.  You must try them.  Ben said he has the best burger while there, too.  Off tangent.  After lunch, we wandered around the mall.  I haven’t been to the Mall on my last few trips to Minnesota and they have since updated a few areas.  I loved the changes they made.  Wanna see?

The new honed and polished brick lay marble floor is so beautiful.  This picture really doesn’t do it justice.  I want this somewhere in my house.  Check out the silver Christmas trees, too.  I would be alright with those in my house next year.

I instantly fell in love with this crystal art installment.

Again, this picture doesn’t do it justice, because it is ah.mazing.  How cool would this be in a dining room, bedroom or over a kitchen island?!?  Even as a mobile in a child’s room over a bed?  Or over my bed?

What do you think of MOA’s improvements?  Would you want those floors or crystal chandelier in your home?  Have you seen anything in a store that made you drool (either literally or figuratively speaking)?  I know I’ve seen a lot of beautiful Anthropologie displays online.  Please share!  If you have pictures, please share on our Facebook page.

Survey? Please?

Happy New Year!  I’m here to ask you to do a huge favor.  Are you ready?  I’d greatly appreciate if you would be willing to answer a few questions for me.  Yep, a survey.  I really want to know why you visit our blog, what you like in other blogs, and if you have suggestions for new content to add.

1.  What are your must read blogs?  What are your favorite post topics?

2.  Have you seen a cool DIY project (or just something cool) and you’d like us to attempt it?

3.  Do you remember how you found Our Humble A{Bowe}d?  What keeps you coming back?  How often do you read our blog?  Daily?  Weekly?  Monthly?

4.  What type of posts would you like to see more of?  Less of?  What is missing from Our Humble A{Bowe}d that you would like to see?  Have you seen something in our house that you’d like more explanation on?

5.  Do you make New Year’s resolutions?  If so, what was yours?

Thank you in advance for your comments, support and help.  I love blogging, and I would love to improve this little blog in any way possible, so we’re completely open to suggestions.

Tom’s of Maine Giveaway Winner

I was so excited to be able to giveaway a $50.00 Target gift card.  We all know my love for Target and now one lucky reader gets a shopping trip!  I think the rest of us are jealous.  To freshen up, I like to use a gritty face scrub.  Seriously, nothing is better than nice smooth skin.

The winner of the Tom’s of Maine Target gift card, chosen by Random.org is… (drumroll please)

number 11, Jenny!  Congratulations, Jenny!
