Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from Our Humble A{Bowe}d to yours.  We’re so thankful for our readers and our sponsor, IHeart Organizing.

My amazingly talented blog friend, Jen, is the mastermind behind this blog and Etsy shop, and her projects do not disappoint. I recently had the pleasure to meet Jen in person to do a little shopping, too!  Jen has so many organizing ideas, tips, and solutions that are sure to get even the most unorganized person in the mood clean, declutter and organize.  If that’s not enough, Jen also has an amazing home, decorated with boatloads of thrifty and frugal finds.  I really lover her clever, creative use of run of the mill household items, too.  If you haven’t already, check out IHeart Organizing and tell Jen I said, “Merry Christmas!”

Gimme a Giveaway Winner

Like most people, my design style is hard to define.  I like traditional wall treatments, but I prefer to counter it with modern furniture.  The winner of our Modern Portrait giveaway is lucky number 7, Leanne Poduska, who would love to have a print of her baby boy.

Congratulations Leanne!  Happy Friday, everyone else.

Christmas Wish List

I’m not a big fan of jewelry, I’d rather have house items.  So, here’s what’s on my Christmas wish list:

I would love a new comforter to replace our duvet.  I’m not a fan of the constant shift of the cover or large expanse of white.  I really love most things designed by Dwell Studio, and this comforter is the perfect mix of modern and traditional.  The neutral color palette is perfect for an ever-changing design, too.

Another item I’ve been looking for without success are affordable, good-looking leather storage ottomans.  We really need to add some organization to our entryway and these from Crate and Barrel would be the perfect multi functional solution, minus about $135.00 each, please.  If you’ve seen a similar designed ottoman, please let me know.

The Etsy shop 1Canoe2 has really great art, like the series of letterpress state prints.  I would take either Montana or Minnesota, I’m not picky.  The 2011 Things That Are Long letterpress calendar is so cute too.

Ben Santa, those are my top two items, but if you’re looking for some stocking stuffers, here are a few items that recently made their way to my Wist:

West Elm’s wood slices salad plates are gorgeous and wood would look great paired with any dinnerware, but especially these bird napkin rings from Z Gallerie.

To make office time more fun, how about some of these adorable bird paperclips

This chalkboard thought bubble would also find a home in my office, or the kitchen…

Last but not least, this velvet and ricrac pillow to add a lovely texture and pattern for a winter setting.  Though, I could probably do a DIY version of the last two.  Maybe hold off on those.  That’s all this year.
