My favorite bloggers, YHL, featured our dining table today as a Reader Redesign! You seriously have no friggin’ idea how very excited I am right now! If I weren’t holding a baby I think I would have jumped about three feet off my chair, really. If you haven’t seen it already, head on over to Young House Love and check it, check it, check it ouuut.
Congrats on the feature!!!! 🙂
Thanks, L! I’m in good company 🙂
Hooray! : ) I am very excited for you!!
Thanks, Rachael! We’re pretty excited, too!
Just visiting from YHL – congrats on being featured. You have a lovely home!
Pretty color on the dining room wall, but that paneling feels claustrophobic, and the heavy white platters seem to add to the heaviness of that wall. Have you ever seen hand-painting on shades like the one over your table? Less white would ground this space. I’d love to see a bold fabric wrapped around the shade and maybe some colorful paintings in different sizes in place of the bland platters. :o)
Oh, dear. Here’s how to make a smiley face on WordPress blogs … 🙂
Hi Cate,
Thanks for the ideas, but we love the paneling. As for the platters, the primary purpose for the paneling and plate rack is to store our large platters and it’s secondary purpose is art. We actually use those platters, so it’s nice to have them handy, but not taking up all of our cabinet space, if they even fit in there.
Thanks!
Amanda
You’ve done a beautiful job! What is the name of the paint color used in your dining room and basement? I’d love to find it myself. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Bluestargurl,
The color is actually a mistinted version of what I wanted. It was supposed to be Restoration Hardware’s Silver Sage, but it got messed up in the process. The paint is from Wal Mart and they used the light base. The formula for one gallon is B-37, E-39.5, and T-37. Hope it helps. This is the color used in our dining room and basement, too. It can look more green in some light.
Thanks!
Amanda
