On Wednesday, I organized the basement, which we shared yesterday. With this weeks giveaway, you can do a little organizing in your home. Bonita is a Thirty-One independent consultant and she offered up a fantastic organizing utility tote.
It’s large, and can be used for just about anything. Toss papers, a computer, and office supplies in for a portable office. Keep one in your car with emergency items. Wonderful bag! I wish I had some organizing quirks to help me keep our home a bit cleaner!
I need help organizing. My husband is much more organized that me. All coat hangers in the same direction. I got “fired” from loading the dishwasher right when we got married 7 yrs ago. LOL!!
My organization quirk is that books all have to be lined up and that pictures MUST be straight! I go nutty when pictures are crooked!

I organize my shoes with one facing in and one facing out, that way I can always see the toe and the heel, and it shrinks down the amounts of horizontal space they take up (but only a little)!
I test all my pens when I clean up and organize. I absolutely cannot stand picking up a pen only to find that it’s out of ink! hahahhaa
I wish I had an organizing quirk! I am just not that organized…
Organizing quirk: I like clean countertops and will go to great lengths to keep them that way!

Mmmmhh, my shoes do need to be facing the same direction, however I cannot control my kid’s shoes!! They are all over the place, and I try to keep them organized to no avail!! Oh, well!
When I load my dishwasher the knives, forks, and spoons have to be in their own compartment. It makes it so easy unloading!
I am typically pretty organized, but with a 2 year old and 6 week old, we definitely need to refocus our efforts!

My quirk is keeping up the organization. I will organize, but then I fail to follow through with it. I blame it on being busy.
This bag is sooo cute. I wish I had organizational quirks. Moved into a “new” house over two years ago and still have stuff in boxes.
I prefer to fold shirts with the chest facing out so that you can see the front when it’s folded in the drawer. That bag is amazing. I can think of 1,347 ways to use it!
I have to open the cereal box packaging on the side with the nutrition facts.
I have to have the bath towels lined up nicely in our linen closet.
I like to organize my closet (and my kids’) by grouping similar items together. e.g. short sleeved together, sweatshirts, dress shirts, long sleeved, etc. Makes it easier when I’m picking out their clothes!

I feel great when stuff in my house is organized! My problem arises when I get too busy to keep things in order!

I wish I had just one quirk. LOL However I would say the one that comes to mind most is when I load the dishwasher. The silverware holder has four sections. Each section holds a different utensil and knives must be blade down.

loved to be organized but with 3 kids (5 and under) and a busy life it’s just hard at times.
Don’t know if this is really a quirk or not, but I pick out all the kids’ clothes for the week in one day and I do it right before I put away their clean clothes so they don’t wear the same thing in back to back weeks.
I fold my undies…totally weird!
I hate clutter in general, I like everything to be in it’s place!
I used to be an organizing freak. Everything neat, tidy and in its place. No exceptions! I’ve mellowed as I’ve aged. I still like things put away but don’t go postal about it. I love to have things labeled.
Towels always have to be stored in the cabinet with folded edge out. Clothes all have to face the same way in the closet, and must be organized by sleeve length first, and then by ROYGBIV coloring. But everyone does those things, so they aren’t quirks, right? 😉
I’m a meticulous organizer. My clothes are sort by color. My shoes always point the same way. Socks matches and stacked. Etc.
Love ThirtyOne! My quirks? Closet is organized by color, style, sleeve and pant length. Money in my wallet has to be facing the same direction at all times!

My organizing is the colors must match! As in baskets have to be the same color.
