Gimme a Giveaway: Lily & Val and Our Humble Abode

This giveaway is closed.  Thanks for entering!  See who won here.

We’re officially in February, the month of love.  How about a love themed giveaway?  I think so.  Allow me to introduce you to Lily & Val, a lovely Etsy shop with chalkboards galore.  Real chalkboards, digital chalkboard designs, and pretty chalkboard prints.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Where There is Great Love, for the Valentine lover.

Julia Child Quote, for the foodie.

Let It Be, for the musician.

Culinary Herbs, for the chef.

But wait, there’s more!  Two winners will get their choice of print from Lily & Val and two prints (of your choosing) from our shop.  Maybe Venn Diagram, for a dose of geek chic.

Simple and classic Love Heart.

Or a Kelly Clarkson quote to brighten your day.

The Goods: One 11 inch by 14 inch chalkboard print from Lily & Val and two 8 by 10 inch prints from Our Humble Abode, winners’ choice.

To Enter:  Leave a comment, which can (but doesn’t have to) include our Just for Fun question.

Just for Fun: Tell us what you love about February.  Valentine’s day?  Abundant chocolates and flowers?

  1. On Valentine’s Day, my husband and I usually go on a date…. WITHOUT THE KIDS!! I love my kids, but a quiet dinner is lovely.

  2. My favorite thing is birthdays! My boyfriend and two closest friends have birthdays this month. Which makes it expensive but also means fun get togethers and nights out on the town to celebrate.

  3. My husband and I had our first date on Valentine’s Day, and so February is always a special reminder of that first exciting night in the snow!

  4. My favorite thing about February is my tradition of Show Love Week. Each person draws a name and secretly serves that person throughout the week!

  5. I love February because it means that holidays are over! Not that I dont love being with my family over the holidays, but after Thanksgiving, 3 birthdays in December, 5 Christmas’, New Years, and my birthday in January, I’m EXHAUSTED! February means smooth sailing for a while, and that’s why I ❤ February!

  6. Ohh I love the Julia Child chalk print! Its fantastic! My favorite thing about February is knowing there is a special day for my husband and I every year! I love knowing the 14th is on the calendar!

  7. I think my favorite thing about February is that we’re one step closer to spring! Getting a little tired of the gray and rain in the Pacific Northwest!

  8. I love valentines day. That is our favorite holiday in this house…..even considering Christmas. We decorate and make handmade cards and cook an elaborate “red and pink” meal. My kids count down the days to Feb 14th.
I love the Julia child pic. I just put that on my wish list.

  9. My hubs and I met on Valentine’s Day in 1987. Ten years to the day, we brought our 3-day old baby (our first!) home from the hospital. February is the best! A month of beginnings!

  10. I really love the after holiday candy sales, but this year I have vowed to be more healthly and am going to try to have to skip those impulse candy purchases.

  11. I love that the days start to be a bit longer in February. I love me some daylight! Oh, and the dark chocolate covered orange peel my family gets me for Valentine’s Day.

  12. I love making little treats & notes for my friends and family.
And to be really honest, I love the after Valentine’s Day chocolate sales 🙂

  13. My favorite thing about February is that you get the same size pay check but technically work less days 🙂 And it’s also brining me a little closer to warmer weather.

Now it's your turn! Share your thoughts and opinions, stories and links. We love hearing from you!
