In addition to looking for a not too green or orange yellow paint, I’m searching for the Goldilocks of semi flush lights for the guest room. Here are my top six:1. Kenroy Home Whistler
All have diffused light with a close to the ceiling drop. Some are more simple. But I’m not sure which I like best. Or if any of these are the one. Care to cast your vote? Or nominate a different light? Of course there’s always a DIY option.
#4 It’s different from all the round ones……but will that finish fit?
Hi Kathy!
I do like the square. The finish is actually nickel, but looks brass in the picture. At least that’s what the info says. 🙂
Thanks!
Amanda
I like 2, 3, and 5 the best- maybe 5 most for its simplicity. It might also be easiest to copy in a DIY!
My choices are 1,2, or 5. Although I’m leaning towards 5. Do you get emails from Houzz? They just did a thin on yellows for the kitchen, but one of them might be a good choice for you. Here’s a link: http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/7012124/list. My favorites are the middle two in the to row. I’m hoping my hubby will agree to painting our kitchen yellow!
I have one that looks identical to #5 that I got at home depot. I cant find it online but it was definitely less than $100. Less than $50 if i remember correctly.
2, 3, and 5 are my favorites, but all of them are nice.
I think I like 5 the best. My other picks are 2 and 3.
We have this one and like it.

For some reason I like #4. Maybe because it’s different from the rest? Everyone buys the round ones (I have one, ha), try square!
I like #4. I’m not crazy about the round ones for some reason.
Love 5. Its simple and elegant. I bought a very similar version the other day for our hallway and I LOVE it.
I feel like I’m going against the grain here, but #1 is really my fav. I like the texture of the shade and the lines on the sides.
I can see #1 fitting into the space best. I feel like the square one would be too boxy with the built ins, window, bed, dresser, etc. throw some curves in there! 🙂
I like #3 and #4 the best. I know most are leaning toward #5, which I also think is really nice, heck they all are, but on #5 specifically, it looks like it hangs down more than the others, and might as a result hang to low in that tiny little room.
I tried to post, but I think it was erased. Therefore, # 3 is interesting. If you are going to DIY, #5. #6 looks like a public schoolroom, or restroom. The room is mucho rectangular, so not #4. I like #s 1 and 2, but not as much as 3.
#1 or #5. 🙂
#3, just because it has a more softer look to it. the second layer of shade will diffuse the light even more too! 😉
I’d go with 1 or 5.
I like #4 – the gold ❤
I’m really into #4 myself. Also, someone mentioned leaving the room white last week, but have you thought about painting or wallpapering the ceiling? Painting the ceiling a warm brown or gold might be fun. Just a brainstorm! I’m sure you will come up with the perfect plan!
I adore the classic look of the first option best.
Thanks for the input and votes, everyone! 2 got four votes, 1, 3, and 4 each had six, but number 5 is the winner with 8 votes. We’ll keep you posted on what we get. 🙂
Thanks!
Amanda
