If you’re coming from Iron and Twine, welcome to the party! So many wonderful ladies have shared their fantastic tours already. Check out the first three days here:
Our mantel is decked out in bright colors, including a short strand of the felt garland I made.
The merry & bright art is something I sketched out and painted on a piece of black foam from the Dollar Tree.
For the past four years, I’ve made silhouette ornaments of each family member. And in years past, I’ve hung those ornaments on stands to place on a shelf. This year, the silhouettes mark each stocking, including a custom paint color.
Our deep green chevron coffee table adds more pattern and color. When paired with red plaid scarf pillows, it’s a slight twist on traditional red and green.
Original scarf tassels are a fun touch, too.
Next to the fireplace is slightly less colorful and more glam.
Lots of gold, white, some black, and a bit of blue. Ben’s first deer has a glitter star. You know, to girl him up a little.
On the other side of the room I sewed plaid flannel pillow covers. Nothing says cozy like flannel, I always say.
This buffalo check is great all year, too.
In our less finished (okay, not even close) living room, I decorated the entertainment center. Though we have plans to build doors to hide the ugly electronics and cords.
Gold on navy Holy Night song lyrics are Christmas-y, without screaming Christmas.
Below is a wintery scene, complete with bottle brush trees, a hedgehog family, and squirrel.
The dining room decor is much simpler. Our tree is in the corner.
Large jingle bells hang from the chairs.
And another snowy scene sits on the table. A cheap acrylic frame from Michael’s holds Epsom salt, trees, and mini birds.
And a bokeh tree, because I can’t help myself.
Thanks for stopping in! Pop over to Cuckoo 4 Design. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the tour.
Love love a bokeh photo. I have been wanting to try that. And I adore your Merry and bright sign. So cool!
Thanks, Julia! The bokeh is super simple, just don’t focus on your subject. 🙂
Love your Merry and bright sign! I’m also always a fan of flannel!
Hi Michelle!
Aww, thanks! Flannel is great, right?! Cozy and warm, and so many fun color combos. Hard to resist. 🙂
Thanks!
Amanda

Hi Lindsay!
Thanks, lovely! Thank you for letting me in on the fun.
Thanks!
Amanda
Can I tell you how much I love your bright little garland!?! It is so cute and I love how colorful & festive your tour is…I have never done the bright decorations, but I love them so! Every time I see someone do them, I want to go and change all of mine out. It’s so cheerful! And I was just wondering how in the world have I not been following you on IG! Off to do that, now! So fun being on this series with you! 😉 Jesse
Hey Jesse!
Thank you so, so much for your super sweet compliments! I always seem to go with bright holiday stuff. I love the muted and natural, but then I see bright, shiny things and cannot resist. It’s a sickness. 🙂 And I agree, we should team up more often. 😀
Thanks!
Amanda
Where’d you get your colorful bottle brush trees and all of your minis (birds, hedgehogs, etc.)? So cute!
Hi Kim!
The bright green glitter trees are last year’s clearance finds from Wal Mart. I haven’t been there in a while, so I’m not sure if they have them this year. The other trees and mini birds are from Hobby Lobby (in the doll house section). I made the hedgehogs with polymer clay, but Etsy has so many adorable mini options. Seriuosly, if you like minis, be warned. 😉
Thanks!
Amanda
You have so many great touches! The Merry and Bright and O Holy Night art, the silhouettes on the stocking, your bottle brush vignette! heart!
